The
forehead lift (brow lift) is the most efficient measure to treat wrinkles, frown lines
and other affections of the forehead. Additionnally it is appropriate
for treatment of sagging or low position of the eyebrow, creating a tired
or sad appearance.
Operation
Because of individual factors, not everyone will achieve the same results
from a forehead lift. Your plastic surgeon will select the surgical technique
that he or she feels will obtain the best outcome for you. Depending on
the indication it is possible to perform an open or an endoscopic procedure.
In many instances, an incision is made across the top of the scalp, beginning
above the ears and hidden within the hair. Sometimes, the incision may
be placed at the front of the hairline or, in some cases, toward the middle
of the scalp. The incision is designed to be inconspicuous when healed.
Through the forehead lift incision, your plastic surgeon can modify or
remove parts of the muscles that cause wrinkling and frown lines, remove
excess skin, and lift your eyebrows to a more pleasing level. The surgery can be by open approach or as an endoscopic forehead lift with minimal invasive technique.
Special Instruments
For the less traumatic procedure and optimal aesthetic result of the forehead lift (brow lift), Dr. Solz invented a special instrument. It is sold worldwide by Medicon the company for special instruments for plastic surgery in Germany. The facelift scissors acc. to Dr. Solz are a help to achieve a natural results, less bleeding and more safety during surgery.
Anesthesia
A forehead lift is a rather brief operation and can be done under local
anesthesia, which has the benefit that patient and surgeon are able to
communicate about direction and intensity of the lift. Of course, if desired
by the patient it is possible to perform the operation under sedation
or general anesthesia.
Duration
of stay in the clinic
The operation can be performed on an outpatient basis (no down time) as well as with
a short stay of 2 days in the clinic. |
